About the Course

Early Years Lead Practitioners are experienced professionals who lead day-to-day practice and act as role models for colleagues. They combine a strong understanding of child development with the ability to support others, evaluate provision and improve children’s experiences.

This apprenticeship develops your ability to lead an area of practice, a room or a team within an Early Years setting. You will explore how research, reflective practice and effective leadership can strengthen the quality of education and care.

The role involves working with children from birth to eight, alongside families, colleagues and other professionals, to provide inclusive support that responds to individual needs.

The typical training duration is 24 months, followed by a typical three-month end-point assessment period. Your individual training plan will take account of your existing knowledge, skills and experience.
